Oh Pilates. Pilates has taught me so much. Of course there are the obvious ones. Where do I put my head? What is hip extension? Where are my obliques? But it has really been so much more. Pilates has taught me that I have control over chronic pain, that I can find humor in hard things, that spending time upside down doesn’t have to end when you grow up, that drawing isn’t the only thing I’m good at, and
that maybe I’m not as shy as I always thought I was. Basically
it allowed me to rewrite a lot of stories I had always told
about myself.

My relationship with Pilates started when I finished art school and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next so I casually googled “how do I become a Pilates instructor?”.

I have been teaching Pilates for over 10 years with a comprehensive certification from Polestar Pilates, which focused on how to create individualized Pilates practices for people of all ages and abilities. I have studied Pilates for Scoliosis, Pilates for runners, Oov (look it up, it’s amazing),
lower extremity injuries/pathologies, prenatal/postnatal
Pilates and more.

The best thing about Pilates is that it allows us to exceed our own expectations of what we are capable of. It allows us to rethink the stories we tell about ourselves.

Pilates People is the dream I never knew I had. We are creating a space for everyone to truly enjoy and learn from their own movement explorations. Because movement should be fun! I cannot wait to share it with you all.
